LIFE STUDIES
If we are committed to growing closer to God, one of the most important things we can do is spend time studying God’s Word with other Christians. Life Study classes are a great way to do this! Life Study classes meet on Sunday mornings during the worship hours. Click on the link below to see a list of current classes offered. Some classes study books of the Bible and others study Biblical topics, but they all are great ways to get connected with other Christians and grow closer to God. Family Matters
One of the highest callings of God is to honor God within our family structure. This interactive class with weekly readings will help parents understand how to build a family that gives glory to God. Topics to be discussed will be balancing the roles of spouses, overcoming busy-ness, dealing with your extended family, and other relevant parenting issues.

Going to the Source
No book has had more impact on the world than the New Testament. Yet are the 27 books reliable? Are they full of errors or personal bias? Do the four Gospels give us an accurate portrayal of Jesus? Did the early church make a mistake in not including the da Vinci Code or Gospel of Thomas in the Bible? The class will be interactive, creative and will require absolutely no homework, yet it will challenge you to conform your life to the teaching of Jesus. Remember, you cannot be profoundly influenced by that which you do not know.

In Depth Bible Study – Hebrews
If you are motivated to study the Bible on your own and then discuss what you are learning with a group of people, this is a group for you. This class will be studying the book of Hebrews together and trying dig into what God’s Word has to say them.

Bible Search - Romans
In the Book of Romans all the vital biblical themes are brought together to enable spiritual health. Bible Search is continuing their verse-by-verse study of Romans this fall.

Women of Faith
A class for women who are mature in their Christian faith. This class aims to cultivate an atmosphere of worship and regular prayer as part of its weekly entrance into the Word of God.

Kairos—Exodus
Do you ever have trouble following God? Come join the Kairos class as they continue studying Exodus and learn from the amazing example of Moses and the Israelites who God asked to follow him out of Egypt and through the desert.

Faith & Fellowship—Philippians
The Philippian Christians were Paul’s most loyal supporters for years and even sent one of their members to care for him while he was under house arrest in Rome. Our study is of Paul’s letter to that church in which, despite his imprisonment, he emphasizes the joy of life in the Lord Jesus Christ and teaches that we also can experience that same joy.

Living Stones—Isaiah
The book of Isaiah shows us a God who gives encouragement to those who need comfort, hope for those in despair, but also anger toward those who sin. Come learn about this amazing God as this class studies the second half of this insightful book. Living Stones is a class for Christians who enjoy studying scripture and learning from each other.

Daniel God’s Sovereignty and How to Burn Brightly
in the Midst of Dark Times
In a book which many of us know for its rich prophecy we also see God’s sustaining faithfulness to a remnant of His people who must learn how to live and obey Him in the midst of a hostile culture. Come see what insights Daniel has to teach us about standing out and standing up for God in our own culture today.

Women’s Class—Book of Daniel
Boldly live in our modern-day Babylon without falling prey to its allure. Just as the prophet Daniel faced unbelievable pressure to compromise his faith in a hostile culture and was constantly confronted by temptations and threats, today’s believers face similar trials. This is a Beth Moore video-enhanced study of the Old Testament Book of Daniel.

Discovery Class
What does it really mean to have a relationship with God? What is this “Christian faith” thing, anyway? If you are new to Black Rock or want to understand how to develop spiritually, this is the class for you! The Discovery Class is a great place to ask questions and find answers about growing closer to God.

Caring for Others
Have you ever wondered how to talk to your friends who are hurting or going through a crisis? This class will teach some basic counseling skills that will enable you to support friends during crisis without the burden of sophisticated psychological theories. You have an incredible opportunity to share the love and hope of Christ with people who are hurting and this class taught by a professor of counseling will help you build the tools to do that.

A Marriage Without Regrets
To have a marriage without regrets we must be able to stand before God and say, “Lord, I was all that You intended me to be!.” This class is based on the best-selling book by Kay Arthur and will be a fun and helpful class for couples. Begins February 24.
