Martin Luther King Work Day
In the weeks following the Martin Luther King holiday ( March), participate with a team of Black Rockers, as we join a Bridgeport social service organization, doing service work in the city.

World Vision “30 Hour Famine” Workday
On April 5, BRCC Outreach provides work projects for 540 teenagers who are participating in the “30 Hour Famine”. We identify, organize, and co-ordinate work projects to benefit the Cities of Bridgeport, Fairfield and Shelton. We need help from volunteers to organize the kids at each worksite.

Special Olympics
In June, Black Rockers make lunch and serve at the Connecticut Special Olympics games held in Danbury.

Backpacks for Kids
In late August, Outreach collects backpacks loaded with school supplies for disadvantaged kids in the Bridgeport school system. Last year Black Rockers supplied over 70 backpacks through school guidance counselors. To participate, buy one or more backpacks and listed supplies in August.

Fall Festival
In October, BRCC Outreach spotlights the local Missions that we support in the area. Come to hear about the great work which is done by these outstanding Christian organizations.

“I Care” Ministry
If you enjoy doing random acts of kindness, join us as we come aside an inner city partner church in the North End of Bridgeport, raking, trimming and cleaning up neighborhoods while we canvass neighbors for their needs and prayer requests. This is usually in late October or early November.
Contact:  Pete Schirmann (203 255-3883).

Pie Ministry
Join in making and distributing pies and a message of love to people who need to feel remembered at Thanksgiving. Baking takes place at BRCC on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. In 2007, 165 pies were distributed to those in need in throughout the area.
