LANI AND STEVE SHADE

In 2004 the Shades purchased a large home out of which they maintain an international student residential ministry. The Charis House currently has 7 international students from all over the world. The Shades welcome the students with Christian hospitality, love and care, and engage them in spiritual conversations.  Lani is also on campus at UPenn teaching several English classes and Bible studies for internationals.  Along with colleagues they organize different outreach activities, provide practical services, and promote conferences where international students will hear the good news of the Gospel.

Prayer Requests:

• Pray that the Shades will be an example to those living in community with them, so that students will see God’s transformation in their lives and desire to know Him personally

• Pray that international students in the Bible studies will give their hearts and minds to Jesus

• Pray for additional workers in the Philadelphia international student ministry
