Pastor Dan McCandless

Rev. Dan McCandless, Pastor of Local Outreach and Evangelism

Dan grew up on the campus of The King's College in Briarcliff Manor, New York. His parents were dorm parents of an athletic dormitory, which fostered Dan's love for all sports, especially golf. After graduating from The King's College and then Pace University with an M.B.A. in Marketing Management, Dan pursued a professional golf career while living in Hawaii. Pastor Daryl Dale

Rev. Daryl Dale, Pastor of Children's Ministries

Rev. Daryl Dale grew up on the West Coast, was educated at San Diego State University, and studied for the ministry at Wheaton College's Graduate School of Theology, where he met his wife, Jan.
He comes to us with a passion for children's ministry, desiring to partner with parents in discipling children. The focus of our children's ministry is the spiritual development of children in an atmosphere of fun, with an emphasis on teaching children to pray, worship, serve others, love their church and become children of Christ-like character.
He and Jan have three grown children. A Scripture passage Daryl has found most helpful in life is Proverbs 3:3-6: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart . . . in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."

Josh Feay

Mr. Josh Feay, Director of Spiritual Development

Josh started as an intern in 2001 while in graduate school, then began working for BRCC full-time in 2003.  What does it really mean to love the Lord with all our heart, soul, mind and strength?  How can we love our neighbor as ourself?  Through small groups, classes, prayer services and more we equip people to live out their faith every day of their life.  Josh also oversees welcomeing visitors through membership into the Black Rock family.
Coming in a close second to his love for God is the love for his family. For reasons he still doesn’t understand, his lovely wife Maria agreed to marry him and they have been happily married since 1998. Eli Joshua, their first child, was born in 2001, Zoe Marie joined the family in 2003 and Ian Gregory arrived in 2005. They enjoy all the outdoor activities Connecticut offers from the beach to the snow.

His parents were missionaries in Sierra Leone, West Africa, when he was young. It was a great place to grow up riding mini-motorcycles and having a pet monkey. He spent his middle and high school years in Fort Wayne, IN, developing a passionate love for basketball. He attended Washington University in Saint Louis for college, double majoring in Economics and Religious Studies. He worked as a Surety Underwriter for an insurance company for a few years, then decided to follow God’s calling to ministry. He attended Yale University Divinity School for three years continuing to develop his passion for church ministry.

Jeremy Taylor

Mr. Jeremy Taylor, Director of High School Ministries

Jeremy joined Black Rock’s full-time staff in 2003 after spending three summers interning here in the youth department. He has been expanding our senior high ministry and seeking to disciple and evangelize the youth of today to become followers of Christ and live every day for Him. Realizing that the youth are the next generation in the church, and most of them will either accept Christ or turn from Him, Jeremy is passionate about seeing teens live lives that hold nothing back in their desire for Christ. On the lighter side, Jeremy enjoys almost every sport, working in the yard, exercising, and coaching baseball. On June 12, 2004, he married Lara Small and they now reside in Fairfield.

Sherry has been a member at Black Rock Church since 2002, and Director of Women's Ministries since November of 2005. Her primary responsibility is to lead, organize, and execute ministry programs for the women of BRCC. Having a strong passion for intimacy with the Lord through Bible Study and prayer, she longs to see women equipped to unleash their own spiritual passions for Jesus Christ.

Joseph Cichon

Director of Technical Ministries

Raised in Fairfield, Joe has resided in Trumbull for the last 19 years. Music filled his life at an early age, having played a multitude of instruments growing up. His school years were filled with band and concert brass instruments. This quickly changed as drums, bass and electric guitars soon followed. This path ultimately lead him to the tech arts in writing and producing original music. Building studios and creating original soundtracks soon followed. His music has been used on commercials such as Mercedes Benz, Toyota, Birds Eye foods, Banks, radio & TV ads and broadcast shows.

Joe's studies at New York University included Producing and The Business of Music. He continues to cultivate select projects. Joining the BRCC Staff as Technical Director has allowed him to use all the tech disiplines every week serving God and the Staff at BRCC. "The fields are white for harvest, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the Harvest to send workers into His field". Luke 10:2 resounded and spoke clearly to him at an early age. It has been a complete walk of faith since then.

With his wife Elaine, Joe has 2 children, Christopher and Olivia. He is an avid Yankees and Cowboys fan and loves to "try" and play golf. He also loves training people for service in tech arts as a ministry.
