2008 MEN’S WEEKEND RETREAT
Get refreshed… Tentatively September 5-7, we will get to go away for three great days with our Christian brothers. We celebrate, laugh, cry, play, rest, relax, learn, worship and pray in the safety of The Band of Brothers. Save the date!
Get encouraged… This past September, our theme was "Living a Life Worthy", which focused on making every aspect of our lives as Christ followers pleasing, fruitful and worthy of the Lord. Encouraging each other to live Christ centered lives and to grow in the knowledge of God, joyfully giving thanks to the Father by reflecting His love through constant prayer, whole-hearted, honest fellowship and humble serving. Living a life worthy ”And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light.” Colossians 1:10-12 We offered one hour seminars on Saturday during the recreation time. The seminars are based on relevant and timely topics led by BRCC pastors, elders and expert attenders in their field. Topics have included: Alpha (New believers and Seekers), Godly Stewardship and Financial Planning, Internet Purity, Parenting and a Proverbs Bible Study. What you can do on the Weekend: For a low key and relaxing time, attend a seminar, play some table tennis, foosball or shoot pool in the fully equipped recreation center. Play Frisbee golf on two 18 hole camp-wide courses. Canoe or sail around the lake, get bounced on the Blob or head over to the 25-man hot tub and soak away the stress of the week. For those who want to kick it up a notch, there is basketball and floor hockey in an indoor gymnasium as well as outdoor soccer, lacrosse, paddleball and volleyball courts. If you really want to get the adrenaline pumping, try out the Ridge Runner (a motorized go cart course), double 800’ zip lines into the lake, high and low rope courses and a four station rock climbing wall. And, of course there is fellowship worship. Join a few hundred guys just like you!
