ADULTS
Adult Ministries
The adult ministries at Black Rock offer opportunities for men and women to serve God, serve others, and to grow in their faith in a community setting with other Christ followers. Adult ministries include the Men's and Women's ministries, the Marriage Ministry, the Divorce Recovery Ministry, Young at Heart, and the Employment Networking Group. Below is a brief description of each ministry. We encourage you to take some time to explore and uncover which ministry God is calling you to. Men’s Ministry The mission of the Men’s Ministry is to build high impact Christ followers through friendships with other men. Our goal is to build men of integrity who live in joyful obedience to God’s will and impact souls by living out their faith. We accomplish these goals through monthly breakfasts together, working side by side on outreach projects, engaging each other in sports and growing together through an annual men’s retreat. Women's Ministry Women's Ministry seeks to challenge and equip women to reflect Jesus Christ in all aspects of their lives. This is done through Bible study, the provision of opportunities for corporate prayer and service and an annual retreat to reset priorities. We also offer fellowship events to strengthen relationships and foster the accountability needed for spiritual growth. Marriage Ministry The mission of the Marriage Ministry is three-fold: to prepare engaged couples for rigors and challenges of the lifelong commitment of a Christ-centered marriage; to strengthen, encourage and support existing marriages to reflect God’s intention for marriage through all life stages; and to help restore marriages that have been struggling or broken. Divorce Support Ministry The mission of the Divorce Support Ministry is to help individuals cope with the trauma of divorce and experience healing through the love and support of a Christian community that introduces them to the love of Jesus Christ. We offer three tracts: a Divorce Recovery Workshop, a Divorce Care seminar series and a “Movin’ On” Series to give participants tools for all stages of recovery.
Young at Heart The mission of Young at Heart is to provide Christian fellowship for senior adults and to give practical instruction and information pertaining to this age group. We accomplish these goals through Bible studies, monthly luncheons, service projects, and socials. Black Rock Employment Networking Group The Black Rock Employment Networking Group is a free service that meets on the first and third Tuesday of every month at the church from 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm and welcomes individuals who are currently unemployed, facing job uncertainties, looking to make a career change, or looking to start a business. The mission of the group is to offer men and women a structured, encouraging and supportive meeting environment in which to address topics relating to job search strategies, career transition, employment enhancement and the impact of change on individuals and families. |
