Dgroups

Welcome to Dgroups!  Yes, Dgroups stand for Discipleship Small Groups.  An extension of Fusion, Dgroups are made up of students who are committed to Christ and want to learn more about Him and His plan for their lives.  Dgroup is a time for you to spend time in fellowship with other believers to become better equipped in sharing your faith with others.

Discipleship Small Groups meet twice a month with your leader and the other students in the group.  As a team, each Dgroup will agree on a time and a day to meet that best fits everyone’s schedule.  You will meet on a regular basis and you will be expected to attend all meetings.

Dgroups correspond to two main parts of Fusion’s philosophy which is “To REACH the crowd, CONNECT the community, EQUIP the committed, and MULITPY the core.”  Dgroups are a great way for you to connect with each other.  You will build deep friendships and take these relationships to unbelievable heights because you meet with the same students week after week.

The second area is equipping students.  Dgroups will take you to new levels in your relationship with God and you will be transformed by your study of God’s Word and the accountability you form within your group.

Being a part of Dgroups is a huge commitment. It means putting aside other commitments to make this a priority.  Your Discipleship Small Group will only go as far as you are willing to take it.  You have the responsibility of raising the bar of your Christian walk and being accountable to your Christian brothers and sisters for your actions.

Here are the expectations of Dgroups:

  1. **Good attendance is a priority-community is important and the only way for community to happen is through everyone being there.
  2. Be on time-Time is precious to the group, so when you meet, make the most of it.
  3. Good attitude-Your attitude should reflect that of Christ’s.
  4. Participate in discussion-Be an active member of the group.  Your input will help others grow.
  5. NO excluding others in your Dgroups.
  6. Respect the leader.
  7. Respect others while they are sharing.
  8. Be ready and willing to be accountable to others who look in on your life, and in return, keeping those in your group accountable as well.

These expectations should be taken very seriously and we are going to holding very tightly to them.  Dgroups is a time for growth and maturity and it should be treated as such.

The goals for Dgroups are two-fold:

  • For you to learn about Christ and develop into the Christ-follower that He wants you to be.
  • For you to invest and build into others so they can become greater followers of Christ.

There is one more aspect of being in a Dgroup this year and that is TUESDAY Night Fusion!  Every Tuesday night during Fusion, students will get together with their Dgroup leader and talk about the lesson that was taught and apply it to their life.  We believe that this will help many students to process through the teachings in Scripture and to see how it truly applies to their life.

As you can imagine students who are not already in a Dgroup will be at Fusion.  Your mission is to reach out to those students who are not already connected in a Discipleship Small Group, invite them in, and make them feel welcome.  Students not in a Dgroup will join a discussion group every Tuesday night.

The attached sheet is the only thing you need to fill out in order to become part of a Dgroup.
