Below is more information about what Club JV is as a whole, and the basic outline of what we do as a ministry. Wednesday Nights 7:00-8:45 This night is for any middle schooler- no matter where they are in their faith. The night starts out with some hanging out, talking, great food, and getting to know each other. Next come the awesome games that Club JV is known for. Whether it is dodgeball or relay races, the games always get the night off to a great start. Then we tackle issues that every middle school student faces and address those issues based on the TRUTH of God's Word. We cap off this great night by breaking into discussions groups for relationship building and processing what the topic was for that night. We realize that it is sometimes intimidating and difficult for 7th and 8th graders to come into a place where they do not know anyone, so we make sure that all feel more welcomed and loved here than anywhere else! Worship Nights Every 5 weeks, CLUB JV is going to celebrate who God is with an amazing night full of worship. Whether it's music, prayer, or another type of worship element, this night is completely geared towards the worship of our Lord and Savior. Check the calendar to see if one is happening this month.
D-Now Small Groups We strongly believe at CLUB JV that discipleship is extremely important for middle school students and that discipleship happens best through relationships. That is why we have added this brand new aspect to our ministry. Happening in homes around Fairfield County, our goal is for there to be a small group within 15 minutes of most students so that distance from Black Rock won't be an issue. So if you are a middle schooler and want to grow in your faith, this is the place for you. Make sure you sign up in September to get in a group!
Sunday School
This is our Sunday morning program held during the 10:10am service in the Room 402. Sunday School is a great time where students can come to look deeply into the Word of God and learn in an environment that is geared towards students their age.
At Sunday school we have discussions where students are asked the tough questions and are challenged to take the next step in their faith. The purpose of Sunday school is to bring up Biblically strong students who not only know and understand Bible passages, but also can conscientiously apply them to their lives. Retreats and Missions Trips
During the fall and winter seasons, CLUB JV takes a weekend to get away from the daily grind in order to have fun, build relationships, and focus on some aspect of our walks with Christ. Happening only twice a year, don't miss out on these awesome opportunities.
God calls us to go out into the world to share with others what God has done in our lives and to serve those in need; and here at Club JV we believe that middle school students can do amazing things for God as they seek to live out their faith in a new environment. Starting in 2009, CLUB JV is going on a two-year rotation for missions and will be cycling between Philadelphia and another location. This summer, we're headed to Chattanooga Tennessee. It's going to be a great trip for God, so make sure you're there with us. |
