| WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEEN THE SERVICES? Black Rock offers four different types of worship services. Contemporary Worship Service (Fairfield Campus) Saturday Night 5:30pm Sunday Morning 10:10am Sunday Morning 11:30am
In our Contemporary Worship at Black Rock we praise God in a style that is joyful and energetic. The one-hour service usually begins with four or five songs that the congregation sings accompanied by our adult-contemporary band (featuring guitars, drums, pianos, brass) and led by a vocal team. Sometimes a vocal team member sings a solo to express our love for God or God's love for us. Following a brief welcome, the pastor delivers a message from the Bible that is designed to help us become better Christ-followers at home, at work and in every area of life. Our Contemporary services on Saturday at 5:30pm and Sunday at 10:10am are identical except for one important difference…on Saturday night you’ll find plenty of parking! Traditional Worship Service (Fairfield Campus) Sunday Morning 8:50am
In our Traditional Worship at Black Rock we praise God in a style that might be called formal and dignified. We strive to create an atmosphere that encourages reflection on the greatness and majesty of our Lord. The Traditional Worship service opens with an instrumental prelude, usually organ, flute or violin, which allows attenders to arrive and spend a few moments in quietness before worship begins promptly at 8:50am. Typically, our one-hour service of worship starts with several hymns sung by the congregation and supported by our 70-voice choir. Next the choir sings an anthem that is intended to direct our attention to who God is and what He has done for us in Christ. Following a brief welcome, our pastor delivers a message from the Bible that is designed to help us learn how to better follow Jesus at home, at work and in every area of life.
Sanctuary Worship Service (Fairfield Campus) Sunday Nights 6:00pm
Sanctuary is our Sunday evening service that starts at 6:00 pm. Sanctuary has a style that is unique to this generation. At Sanctuary we are seeking to “do church differently.” Our desire is to be the church in a way that is reflective of God’s heart in a style that uses language our culture understands. Our generation values music, art, open dialouge, creativity, authenticity, community and relationships. At Sanctuary we try to incorporate all these things in a way that reaches our culture and exposes them to the truth and love of Jesus. The music may be a little louder and the sermons a little different than our other services, but our desire to honor God is the same. Long Ridge Worship Service (Stamford Campus) 10:30 Contemporary Worship
Our worship style at the Black Rock Long Ridge Campus is Contemporary. We praise God in a style that is joyful and energetic. The one and a half hour service usually begins with four or five songs that the congregation sings accompanied by our adult-contemporary band (featuring guitars, drums, pianos, brass) and led by a vocal team. Sometimes a vocal team members sings a solo to express our love for God or God's love for us. Following a brief welcome and time of prayer, the pastor (Steve Treash) delivers a message via video from the Bible that is designed to help us become better Christ-followers at home, at work and in every area of life.
